Plaza Hotel organiza recaudación de fondos amigable con perros para Rescue Runners

The Plaza Hotel will host a Paws & Pour Social on Wednesday from five to seven p.m. at La Perla, its rooftop bar overlooking downtown El Paso, according to KVIA. The event combines celebration of National Dog Day with fundraising for Rescue Runners, a local organization that helps shelter and rescue dogs gain community exposure and connect with potential adopters.

Chef Lawrence Acosta told ABC-7 the event has become an annual tradition run in partnership with Rescue Runners and Tito's Handmade Vodka. Attendees can enjoy specialty cocktails and food while their dogs receive their own menu of treats, including a chicken "pupmosa" and pastry-chef creations. Tito's will distribute complimentary Pupuccinos and giveaways such as dog toys, bandanas and pins.

Organizers are asking guests to bring donations including blankets, towels, puppy food, dog food, kennels and crates. Cash donations are also accepted to support local animals in need. Ileene Mendoza, founder of Rescue Runners, brought a puppy available for adoption to discuss the organization's work.

Dogs attending must be current on vaccinations, comfortable around other animals and kept on a leash throughout the event. Tickets cost twenty dollars per person. More information and ticket purchases are available online.
