La Academia Loretto abre sala de pesas, marca un hito en la escuela intermedia

Loretto Academy has opened a new weight room as part of its back-to-school initiatives, according to KVIA. Athletic Director Oscar Nieto said the facility underscores the school's approach to using athletics as a vehicle for student development while maintaining academic and college readiness standards.

The school will host its annual golf tournament on Friday, September 25, 2026, with proceeds directed toward renovations of the girls' locker room. Nieto invited golfers, sponsors, and community partners to participate in the event.

Loretto Elementary, which serves both boys and girls, incorporates STEM instruction at every grade level through hands-on, age-appropriate activities, according to Elementary Principal Norma Lopez. The curriculum is designed to develop student curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Middle and High School Principal Cynthia Munoz noted that Loretto Middle School is marking its 50th anniversary this year. Munoz described the school's traditions—including dances and social activities—as central to building student friendships and school spirit across generations.

Interim President Nancy Tovar emphasized the importance of the "Loretto sisterhood," describing it as a lifelong bond grounded in faith, service, shared traditions, and mutual support.
