Fort Bliss MWR abre 47 instalaciones, más de 900 programas para soldados, familias y público

Fort Bliss Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation operates 47 facilities with more than 900 employees, offering dozens of programs and services aimed at improving quality of life for soldiers, families, retirees and civilians in the El Paso area, according to KVIA.

Monica Thomas, marketing manager for Fort Bliss MWR, said the organization provides recreational and educational programming across multiple service areas. Child and Youth Services offers programs for children from six weeks to 18 years old. The organization also operates more than 40 sports leagues and special events annually.

Recreational facilities and activities include swimming pools, a golf course, bowling, outdoor trips and equipment rentals. Army Community Service provides additional resources for soldiers and families, including financial and employment readiness assistance and support during military moves.

Fort Bliss MWR hosts several community events throughout the year, including Pop Goes the Fort, Oktoberfest and an annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Many facilities and events are accessible to members of the general public through a Fort Bliss Community Pass. Thomas noted that residents interested in accessing MWR programs and events can obtain more information about the community pass through the Fort Bliss MWR website or by contacting the organization directly.
