WE HIKE Adventure, a local nonprofit, is hosting two free community events this September at Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park to mark Suicide Awareness Month and serve veterans, according to KVIA.

The series, titled "WE HIKE for Veterans: Awareness, Connection & Prevention," expands this year to include trauma-informed yoga led by a military veteran trained through Warriors at Ease. The first event takes place Thursday, September 10, beginning with a morning gravel trail walk at 6:45 a.m., followed by veteran-led yoga at 8:15 a.m. The second event is scheduled for Monday, September 21, with an evening sunset walk on an accessible paved path at 6:45 p.m., followed by sunset yoga at 8:00 p.m.

Both events are held at Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park, located at 11055 Loma Del Norte Drive. This marks the second consecutive year WE HIKE Adventure has organized the series to bring the community together on the trails during Suicide Awareness Month.
