UTEP Football Adds Second Jersey Patch Sponsor in Mountain West First

UTEP will debut dual jersey patches on its football uniforms this fall, marking the first time a Mountain West Conference school has done so, according to KVIA.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) signed on as a jersey patch partner for the Miners, joining the GECU logo already on the uniforms. UTEP Vice President and Director of Athletics Jim Senter announced the partnership Monday. Van Wagner brokered the deal on behalf of UTEP Athletics.

The IBEW logo will appear on all competition uniforms as UTEP begins its inaugural season in the Mountain West Conference.

"We're thrilled to announce this partnership with IBEW," Senter said, according to KVIA. "Their members have been powering our country for over a century, boosting our infrastructure and economy. We're excited to have them on board and helping to power our football team!"

Dave Leno, IBEW Treasurer, said the union sees the partnership as a way to connect with the broader community. "This partnership gives our organization an opportunity to stand alongside the Miners while connecting our members, families, and the greater El Paso community with a program that means so much to this region," Leno said, according to KVIA. "We are proud to support UTEP, proud to support El Paso, and proud to be part of the Miner family."

The IBEW represents approximately 901,000 active members and retirees working across utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads, and government sectors.
