Strong storms expected late week across El Paso, Las Cruces region

A strong storm system will bring rain chances to El Paso and Las Cruces late this week, according to KVIA weather forecasters.

Wednesday will remain mild across the region with minimal rain chances. El Paso is expected to reach a high of 80 degrees, while Las Cruces will reach 78 degrees. Morning temperatures ranged from the 50s to 60s, and rain chances Wednesday will stay between zero and 10 percent.

Conditions will shift Thursday and Friday, when rain chances climb to 50 percent. The increased precipitation risk comes as a weather system moves into the Borderland region later in the week.
