Severe Storm Chances Arrive Tonight in El Paso and Las Cruces

The El Paso area remains under a severe storm alert through Saturday, according to KVIA. Conditions are expected to deteriorate tonight after a calm start to Thursday.

Thursday morning began with fresh temperatures in the 50s and 60s, high clouds, and light breezy conditions. By midday, temperatures are expected to climb to 86 degrees in El Paso and 82 degrees in Las Cruces. The first half of the day will remain calm, but storm chances rise by evening.

Tonight carries a 50% chance for storms, according to KVIA. That probability increases to 60% for both Friday and Saturday. Residents in El Paso and Las Cruces should keep rain gear available through the weekend.
