Fall festivals, corn mazes and haunted houses return to El Paso region

Fall attractions are returning to the El Paso region this year, according to El Paso Matters, with corn mazes, pumpkin patches, haunted houses and community festivals running through October and into November.

El Paso's Farm Land Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch opens for four weekends in October at 1100 Nuevo Hueco Tanks Boulevard. The maze takes approximately 45 minutes to complete on average. The site features a cow train, inflatables, cow racers and a game maze, with food trucks on site. Admission is $12.95 plus tax for ages 12 and older, $9.95 plus tax for ages 3 to 11, and free for ages 2 and younger. New this year is a $14.95 unlimited ride ticket for visitors ages 3 and older; pony rides are not included. Active-duty military members and teachers receive $1 off admission with ID. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, October 3 through 25.

La Union Maze, located at 1101 New Mexico Highway 28 in Anthony, New Mexico, runs September 26 through November 8. The corn maze design this year honors New Mexico agriculture and features "250" recognizing the nation's 250th anniversary. A haunted maze is offered Friday and Saturday nights in October. Gate admission is $14 on Fridays for ages 6 and older, $15.50 on non-peak Saturdays and Sundays, and $17 on peak days. Ages 2 to 5 are $8, $9.50 and $11, respectively. Children younger than 2 and adults older than 75 are admitted free. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

The Mesilla Valley Maze returns for four weekends in October at 3855 West Picacho Avenue in Las Cruces. Admission includes access to the maze and hayrides. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, October 3 through 25. Cost is $19 for adults and $16 for children ages 2 to 12.

Ramirez Pecan Farm hosts a pumpkin patch and painting event October 17 and 18, with pumpkins available for purchase and painting kits for decoration. The farm's country store sells butter pecan ice cream, biscochos, pecans, pecan pie and fresh breads, while pecan-smoked barbecue is available.

According to El Paso Matters, the region also hosts larger fall festivals including Chalk the Block in Downtown El Paso, Fire Fest, LibraryCon, TeenTober Fest and Halloween carnivals offering free activities. Visitors should check event websites or social media before attending, as schedules, prices and other details may change.
