An El Paso father and son attended their first World Cup match after winning a sweepstakes, with the teenager selected to serve as a flag bearer at the June 27 contest between Jordan and Argentina in Dallas.

Naim Garcia and his father Antonio Garcia, who live in El Paso, were chosen through the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup 26 flag bearer sweepstakes to participate in the match, according to KVIA. Naim's selection as a flag bearer made the experience especially meaningful: he has long been a fan of Lionel Messi, and seeing the Argentina star take the field that evening created what the family called a perfect memory.

"It was a dream come true," Naim told ABC-7, according to KVIA.

The Garcia family's World Cup experience was broadcast on ABC-7's evening newscasts.
