El Paso events: Country night at La Nube, 'Tangled' screening, museum exhibit

El Paso entertainment venues and cultural institutions are hosting several events this weekend, according to El Paso Matters.

La Nube will host "After Hours at La Nube: Country Lights" on Friday, July 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. at 201 W. Main Drive. The adults-only event features live music, line dancing, karaoke, a mechanical bull, and hands-on STEAM activities. General admission costs $45; members pay $40. A VIP package priced at $60 includes tequila tastings, exclusive performances and access to a private terrace. More information is available at la-nube.org.

The city of El Paso will screen Disney's "Tangled" at Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park, 11055 Loma del Norte Drive, at 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, as part of its Movies at the Park series. The screening is free and open to families. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. The outdoor movie series, in its second season, continues through Sept. 4 at parks across the city. Details are at elpasotexas.gov.

The El Paso Museum of Art will open "America, The Beautiful: Selections from the Zoe Diaz Collection" on Saturday, July 25, at the Peter and Margaret de Wetter Gallery, 1 Arts Festival Plaza. The exhibition features works by Mexican American, Chicano and contemporary artists examining national identity, democracy and life in the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. Included are pieces by El Paso artists Adriana Corral, Gaspar Enriquez and Luis A. Jiménez Jr. The show runs through Jan. 3, 2027 and is free to view. Information is available at epma.art.

The San Elizario Historic District will offer free guided walking tours on Sunday, July 26, at noon and 3 p.m., beginning at Main Street Mercantile, 1501 Main St. The 90-minute tours highlight the nationally recognized historic district. Franklin Mountains State Park will host a guided hike through the Agave Loop on Sunday, July 26, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the West Cottonwood Spring Trailhead, 2900 Tom Mays Access Road. The moderate 1.5-mile trek features scenic overlooks and rocky terrain. Cost is $5 for ages 13 and older; children 12 and under and Texas State Park Pass holders enter free. Hip-hop group Cypress Hill will perform a free outdoor concert at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center, 122 S. Old Pueblo Road, on Sunday, July 26, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The event is restricted to ages 21 and older. Information is at speakingrock.com.
